The Night Raiders (Occidental)

The Night Raiders consisted of Vandy Holloway , Junior Mann , Roger Mann ,Gaylon Adams and Tommy Ellenbury. They were from Alabama and performed mostly in the southeastern area of the United States. The above photo of the group is from 1968. The band recorded two original songs that was released on Occidental records. As you can see from the labels the name of the group is different on each side. More info is needed to know why that is.  I'm guessing it was for the band member (Gaylon Adams and Roger Mann) who was the lead vocals on the particular song that was recorded. Not that it matters, both songs are good.

    Hi Michael, I'm unsure when the 45 was released but like you I enjoy the sound the group had very much.

    I suspect that the different billings was just to emphasise who was singing lead vocals.
    The band was from Arab, AL. and the 45 is an SO press from February 1968.

    My father is Roger Mann (the drummer/lead vocalist) I actually have a couple of copies of this record.

    This Time Again is a song about losing a girlfriend and has an early Beatles type feel to it. It has high pitched vocals and a more up-tempo sound. While I Can is a slow dance song that you could envision being played at Prom or something back in the 60's.
