  2. We were a Chicago band and were Managed by WVON's DJ Herb Kent . Larry Nestor wrote both sides and played piano on the recording. We were working on a second 45 with Larry called “ Loving on borrowed time” in late 1966 when 3 of the four band members were drafted. The song was then given to Phil Orsi and the little kings who recorded it in a different tempo than we were working on. That version of Loving on Borrowed time is on you tube. My Lead player Fuzzy Fuscaldo in 1967 went on to play with Jimmy Rogers and the MAUDS another Chicago band that released a couple LPS. – Benjamin Perry

  3. Thanks for the info about the group. Love the record. Half Pint and the Fifths does a cool rock version of Loving on Borrowed time that was released on the Orlyn record label as well. Thank you for your comment

    1. The record was produced by Russ Vestee, a Chicago recording artist with Amy Records out of New York. Vestee was also the recording engineer & lead singer on The Name of The Game & sang a duet with Fuzzy on That Someone Isn't Me. One of the background singers was Otis Clay, Chicago R&B artist.

  4. Yes Russ was Dominant lead voice on The name of the Game and sang Duet with me one that someone isn't me. Fuzzy sang only background and lead guitar.We were under the gun to get those two tracks done that very day so we had plenty of help with vocals and backgrounds it was an amazing session.It wasn't Otis Clay he had nothing to do with this session. It was a tall thin Black Fellow singing with us not sure who possibly Jimmy Johnson ? Listen to his accenting on the word love in The name of the Game....A couple of days later Larry took us over to a different studio and we cut a track called "STP" which was a single side on a Demo only a few copies of that floating around on that also.It was only a short time after all this that the band fell apart with three of us getting Drafted and going by by.......BEN PERRY {RENAISSANCE}

  5. Thanks for the add of comments Joe but Fuzzy sang no lead at that session and Otis clay was not there at all. We had a tall thin Black fellow singing also but his name escapes me.I believe Larry Nestor and Russ produced that session but could be wrong about that. .A couple days later Larry took us to another studio and we cut a demo there one of Larrys' songs called "STP" yes the stuff you ad to your gas tank.It had a California Surfing like sound to it and was probably going to be used in a commercial. 6. What's funny the fuzz tone heard on That someone isn't me was bought by me the day before this recording session. I gave it to our lead player Fuzzy Fuscaldo to use so we could do Satisfaction by The Stones in our live shows and he ended up working it into our recording. Benjamin Perry {RENAISSANCE}.
