Mellow / Michael Just an update to your questions. I was fortunate to make contact and to talk to Jim Friis today. He was extremely gracious and nice to answer some of my questions. We talked for a brief time about his rockabilly 45's with the Valiants and also the Jacemen 45. He informed me that the story that I reference that said that he was the vocals on the Jacemen's record was incorrect. He was NOT the singer for the Jacemen. In MTM's book TeenBeatMayhem , it show's that the record was released in November 1967. I removed the story from the site that I referenced to avoid any confusion. Mellow / Michael again I appreciate your comments and for bringing this to my attention.
Hi Michael The TeenbeatMayhem book was well done. I have enjoyed hours of reading/learning from MTM's years of research since it's arrival. Like many others when I leaf thru the pages I am amazed with the sure volume of information that is in the book. I think It will take me some time to digest it all. Thanks for your comments
yep! another tune that wouch have been perfect on "Better than the Beatles" or such..... quite strange sound for '64, ain't it?
ReplyDeleteI guess he's the same guy that recorded a "Bop a Lena" cover on Allstar?
