The Mustangs were from Montgomery Alabama. The group does their own rock version of Marvin Gaye's song "Hitch Hike". The flip side is cover of Shep and the Limeliters "Daddy Home". The matrix number looks like it was released in 1966.
In early 1967, Lord Douglas and the Serfs released this very enjoyable record. They had it all on this 45, nice vocals and jangle sound. Looking at my copy of Joel Whitburn's book, I was surprised to find neither song by the group reached the top 100 of the Billboard charts. Wow! I guess like many groups in the 1960's it must have simply been lack of exposure, both song's are great.
